The City Central Library is the timekeeper for a hundred years of history. It was established in the reign of Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar in 1915.
Presently, the library has 18 Branches,10 Service Stations, 5 Reading Rooms, 1 Children library and a Mobile Library. In total, it has over 1.2 lakh books and more than 50,000 members
The CCL in Mysuru will introduce Kuvempu MobileLibrary in the State to take the books closer to the people. As a part of the centenary celebrations, the library will start being functional again with added collection of books and better transport.
